The conference will be under the auspices of the two main French mathematical societies SMF(Société Mathématique de France) and SMAI (Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles)
Overview The idea of a conference between mathematicians from the Republic of France and the Federal Iraq has born out of deep seated relation between the two nations that has existed for many years. This is going to take place in collaboration with Salahaddin University in the capital of Kurdistan Region to act as an embryo for enhancing bilateral relations and open up opportunities for promoting and enhancing scientific contacts for the benefit of both sides. It also ceases the opportunity of peace and stability in Kurdistan Region to allow Iraqi mathematicians to exchange their ideas and learn more about recent advances in their fields of interest after decades of blockade and break from the world of science and technology that has leaped beyond imagination while dictatorship and wars drove Iraq for centuries back. The conference also aims to act as a platform from which durable relations could be established for the good of mathematicians from both sides and research scientists worldwide. Objectives This conference is aimed to bridge Iraqi mathematicians with their counterparts in French universities and has the following objectives: ◙ Identify joint areas of research interest; ◙ Present and familiarize both sides with current advancements in mathematics; ◙ Establish bi-lateral relationships for short term exchange of staff, higher degrees and post-doctoral programs.
